we got the sea view, and the ground floor room we wanted. All staff were friendly, and courteous.any requests were efficiently dealt with.We would certainly return.

We enjoyed our stay very much. The hotel was delightful with lovely gardens and view over the sea. The room was comfortable, warm and well appointed. The staff were friendly, very helpful and welcoming. We hope very much to stay there again.

Impressive sea views- lovely well maintain grounds with pool and childrens play area. Pleasant staff. Good service and food in restaurant.

Our allocated room spoilt our experience, as although pleasantly furnished and warm, it was small and seemed cramped. Bathroom was without shower curtain. Should have paid more for a sea view room.

I booked this hotel because my usual was full, and it turned out to be quie unsuitable for a business trip. This should be made clear on your website. Reception was not open to checkout until 8am and I had to leave at 7.30 am

Staff are friendly, The rooms are clean. Our room had a balcony overlooking the sea.

The tv in the room did not work, when staff were advised of this no action was taken. The beds are uncomfortable. The furniture on tha balcony were rusty and the balcony railings defenitely needed painting. Staff need fire training : a small toaster fire in the dining room caused panic!

Very helpful staff and breakfast good.

Hotel room, gardens and all areas in general require some T.L.C.

Friendly accommodating staff, a very welcoming atmosphere. Great facilities which we thoroughly enjyed and a beautiful garden.

Some of the decor was rather old-fashioned.

Plenty of things for children to do, staff very friendly, breakfast very good

Good Hotel, car parking adequate, food good but choice slightly restricted, (basically two meat, two fish and two vegetarian choices for main course). Lovely grounds and gardens. 2 pools(one indoor) and other gym facilities. Lovely full english breakfast plus good range of other choices. Great cook yourself toast machine that actually works well.

The breakfast was great, loads to choose from and although there were set menus, you could basically ask for and order anything. Help yourself to the cereals, fresh fruit, juices, toast and jams, yogurts etc...What more could want! The staff were friendly and the indoor pool and sauna were almost ours the whole time we stayed there. Nice atmosphere throughout and the afternoon tea is a must. Really had a lovely time and wished we could have stayed longer but will defiantly be back.

Great location being within a short walk of the Old Village area of Shanklin and also the sea front.

My only critism is that the rooms are a tad on the small side and in our case we found the bed to be rather uncomfortable. We had a sea view room with access to a balcony area. The weather unfortunately did not allow for us to take advantage of the outside pool or well kept garden areas.

  • Family with children
    5.8

The sea view is nice (though it would be even better if they allowed to open windows fully - the windows were dirty and being half opened they obstructed the view. I would also cut the huge tree which also obstruct the view).

The hotel is overpriced. Rooms definitely need renovation. You can't charge the same price for the same old decor as 20 (or 30?) years ago. You either make improvements or decrease price. The room photos doesn't reflect the reality - they probably posted photos of renovated rooms. In bathroom they have these prehistoric idiotic English taps - one for cold (icy) water and one for hot (boiling) water. Hey, one night charge and you can change the taps - at least the children won't get skin burns! The bathroom floor is a cheap linoleum and visitors asked to take shower carefully in order not to wet floor. "Double" bed is the smallest I've ever slept in - is it 131cm? Well, definitely no more than 140cm (at least the bed wasn't very firm - thanks for this!). The hotel has quite a big garden but the garden is an absolute mess, dirty and not cared of. The swimming pool: yes, it's cold now to swim but yet it's not aesthetically pleasing to observe dirty swimming pool. My advice: avoid this hotel and try to find one probably in another location (Shanklin seems to be overpriced though there is nothing special there and you can always drive to the other part of the island in 20-25 minutes)

There have no hot water in the evening. I have to wait for the boiler from 2045 until 0100.
